Summer Color! Platinum Trend…

Jell brings you all the latest in hair trends starting with the color of your lovely locks!

Okay, so summer has officially begun. We know this because you can fry an egg on our sidewalks. It’s Texas, baby and it’s a good thing the hottest hair trends are cool as a cucumber.

We’ll start with the latest. Platinum, darling. Gone are the golden honey tones. Blondes are embracing icier hues this summer. It’s an exciting color to experiment with because there is such a variety of shades and tones to choose from. Check out Dakota Fanning’s latest for a beautiful example. Want to go blonde? Go platinum.

Summer Color! Balayage Trend…

The next featured hair color trend can be found in the Balayage. The Balayage is a perfect answer to those of us who are looking for a more understated look without looking frumpy.

By strategically highlighting touches of color, especially the contours of the face, hair is transformed with a subtle depth that can work for any skin tone. “My favorite balayage example is my client, Olivia Palermo,” says Abby Haliti, colorist at New York City’s new Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa. “I always give her the ‘Power Highlights’ service, where I literally paint six pieces of Balayage around the face to accent her features and for the rest of the hair, I let the sun exposure take its natural course.” Take a peek at Olivia Palermo for a great example of a stunning Balayage.

Summer Color! Metallics Trend…

People often associate a metallic hue for harshness or edginess but this summer is proving the opposite.  Rose gold and copper tones are popular bronze hues right now and contingent on how bright you prefer, strawberry blonde might be a great alternative for you. “It can warm up cool skin tones and give an enhanced healthy glow to those who already have a warm complexion,” says Abby Haliti, colorist at New York City’s new Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa. “Jessica Chastain looks stunning in more coppery golden hues and if you’re looking for something more rose, Sienna Miller is a perfect example.”
